Meet Our Talented Team
Our Registered Dental Hygienists (RDH)
Jill started working in the dental field while she was still in High School. After graduation she went on to post-secondary school at Pennsylvania College of Technology where she attained her Dental Hygiene degree. After many years with a periodontist Jill brought her talents to Hengst Family Dentistry and has been a member of our hygiene department since 2007. She combines an extremely gentle touch with thorough care and patient education. This has established a very dedicated patient base that trust Jill with their care.
Jill and her two children enjoy doing DIY house and garden projects together. When she’s not in the dental office she can be found in the gym working on her fitness and nutrition program which she is quite passionate about.
Christina attended the University of Maryland and Baltimore City College where she graduated in 1982 with a degree in dental hygiene and education. As a dental professional, Tina has had the privilege of working many years for a periodontal practice, eight years teaching at Harrisburg Area Community College in the Dental Hygiene program, and since 2010 as a member of Hengst Family Dental hygiene team. Her goal has always been to care and educate patients and to give them an awareness of how to better care for their oral health and over all well being.
Her interests are many, She enjoys tennis, golf, yoga and tap dancing. Tina enjoys being with family and friends and is especially enjoying her most recent role as a Grandmother.
Michelle has been in the dental field since 1995, having graduated from the Academy of Medical Arts as a Registered Dental Assistant. From there, she decided to continue her education at Penn College and in 2001 graduated with her degree in Dental Hygiene. Michelle has experience in general dentistry as well as pediatric dentistry. She has been a hygienist for the Hengst Family Dentistry team since 2002. Michelle appreciates the need to develop a friendly rapport with her patients in an effort to establish a trusting relationship. The relationships she creates are of the utmost importance to her and she enjoys getting to know her patients both professionally and personally.
Michelle lives in a nearby community with her two “pet” children. She loves to travel, spend time with friends and their children as an “honorary” Aunt and has a passion for new experiences in life.
Lisa has been with the practice as a member of our hygiene team since before the practice was purchased by Dr. Hengst. Lisa works Fridays with our office and full-time for Campbell and Pine Orthodontics in Lewistown. Lisa’s easy going and positive personality make her a pleasure to work with. These same character traits are what her patients appreciate and why they value her as their hygienist.
Our Registered Dental Assistants (RDA)
Teree has the distinction of being the one of longest employees with Hengst Family Dental, in fact, she was here prior to Dr. Hengst purchasing the practice from Dr. Roger Buriak in 2003. She has an Associates degree in Dental Assisting and has had expanded function duty training. Teree’s quiet and calm demeanor give patients a sense of comfort while seeing Dr. Hengst for treatment.
When Teree isn’t at work: she travels to Atlantic City with her husband, enjoys time with her daughter, family and friends. Teree is a talented crafter and works on challenging crochet projects.
Michele started her career in dental assisting with certification from Cumberland Perry AVTS and has been assisting Dr. Hengst since 2006. She has worked as an assistant in both the general dentistry field and specialized field of orthodontics. Michele is an integral part of the dental team in keeping our patients comfortable during treatment and being highly knowledgeable about procedures and treatment options.
Outside of the office Michele enjoys riding motorcycle, time by the pool and is a great cook! Family life is very important to Michele and she works very hard to spend time with not just her immediate family but extended family as well.
